About Us

Welcome to Studio 1788

We are a Maryland based design studio building premium apparel around state and place identity. Studio 1788 stands as the sole active line under our parent label, Aden Bera, built on organic cotton and a philosophy of intention over excess.

Our Design Philosophy

Studio 1788 pairs Bauhaus inspired geometry with a less is more approach to graphic design. Every piece starts with a place, a state flag, a mountain range, a marker of local identity, then moves through digital refinement before production in small batches. The name references 1788, the year Maryland ratified the Constitution, a heritage marker for a brand built on state pride done right.

From Maryland to a National Identity Label

Studio 1788 launched with Maryland as its first collection. The design system now runs Colorado, with Texas and select cities on the way. Each collection holds the same standard: organic cotton, a graphic on the back, the Studio 1788 wordmark on the sleeve, made to order in small runs to avoid overproduction.

Sustainable, Small Batch Production

Organic cotton, GOTS and OCS certified materials. Made to order production that avoids the waste of mass manufacturing. Every design moves from concept to digital refinement to small batch production, holding the same quality standard across every state we cover.

Our Story

Founded by Stu B, this brand carries a personal story. The name Aden Bera comes from a search for identity, bridging two cultures. "I wanted a name that reflected my family and my respect for Japanese culture. By translating my daughter's name into Japanese to find 'Bera' and pairing it with my son's name, 'Aden,' the brand found its soul."

Boutique Service, Human Connection

We run as a small, independent brand. We don't operate around the clock, and we hold to quality support and a healthy work life balance for our team. Reach out and you're speaking to real people who care about finding the right solution for you.

Join the Journey

Whether you're shopping the Maryland collection, the new Colorado line, or waiting on your own state to launch, we invite you to be part of this community. Together, we're building a modern approach to state pride that respects both people and the place it comes from.

Welcome to the family.
